LOCAL SCIENCE EXPERIMENTS HELP DETECT TOXIC FOODS

Do you know simple scientific experiments which I call local science can help detect toxic effects of some foods?

How did I come up with  this mode of scientific research? Uuummm...it may be as a result of not having the funds to set up a proper well-equipped laboratory  to detect toxins in food.

As many as care to find out if what they are taking into their bodies are toxic may also adopt these local science experiments further below.

From recent news reports,  there are  increasing numbers of chronic diseases – cancers, hypertension, diabetes, kidney failures  etc,  not only in Nigeria but in other countries as well. The situation in Nigeria or any  other country should concern us as the numbers  are indicative of the  deep suffering of people including innocent children.

It is said that some states in Nigeria have as high as 12percent of the population  with kidney problems. Borno state is said to have the highest with 14percent of the population.

For instance, this is for explanation  - if there are 10 million people in a state, 14 percent of the population means 1.4million  people – HUMAN BEINGS have kidney problems.

From my observations I think it was after the Covid19  Pandemic – around Year 2021, that the use of toxic substances in food production further heightened in our country.

But how do you know if any food has toxins in it? It would be nice to set up a sophisticated laboratory to test. But in the absence of that, you can use domestic animals.

I rear afew chickens and recently I  have been using them to test if certain foods have elements that are toxic or not too ideal for consumption.

But it started with some observations almost two years ago. At that period I was avoiding intake of processed foods. I also avoided cooking with any fresh foodstuff I perceived must have been grown with chemicals.

At that period, the leftovers I had were of course healthy foods. So if I didn’t have grains left to feed the chickens, I would feed them the leftovers. The two  local  chicken breeds  - a cock and hen I had then were particularly healthy – they blossomed.

Everyone who saw them then would comment that my chickens looked good. Their pooh also didn’t emit foul odour.

I have heard  and read how fresh chicken pooh is said to be toxic to use as manure for plants. But whenever I used the fresh pooh of those chickens to manure the growing plants in my mini-garden, no negative issue – the plants also blossomed. That hen  I had then was  very prolific in laying eggs – so many fresh eggs.

But for myself, as a result of cutting off so many foods, I had lost weight. I had  to gain some  body weight  so as not to look too thin. Therefore I needed to take off the limits on my food choices.

By then I had got four additional local chickens to rear – 2 males and two females.  The hen from the first set of two which was prolific in laying eggs was the smallest in size. But It’s body mostly covered with feathers looked radiant.   It was also a very strong chicken -it even  bullied all the new chickens that were bigger in size – three of the new chickens had been given drugs by their previous owners before I purchased them so they looked big - big but weaker in strength.

Towards the end of last year, the first set of two chickens and two of the new set  were slaughtered at different times.
The remaining two  are a cock and hen from the newer set.

By the beginning of this year, I  was taking  processed foods and also non-organic fresh foodstuffs more regularly in order to gain some weight. I have become even more certain than  these foods have toxins in them – I usually experience their inflammatory effects – inflammation is the body’s response  to substances that may portend danger. If the inflammation is mild, it may be okay but if serious such that it makes one feel very uncomfortable or weak, this is an indication that  the body is reacting to what it finds very toxic. This should not be ignored. The toxins have to be removed from the body and whatever bringing in the toxins into the body should be discontinued .

For my local science experiments, if for instance I have leftover jollof rice or noodles or beans or non-organic bananas or pancake from processed wheat flour, I would give to these current chickens.

You need to have seen live how horrible the chickens especially the hen started looking afterwards. A day or few days after eating those foods, they would start having diarrhoea and/or inflammation on their skin.

Some of their feathers have fallen off. So whenever the chickens eat leftover food with the slow poisons that we humans usually eat on regular basis, sometimes later their bare skin would become so very reddish!

It would appear that a mass of thick red blood have coagulated at  different parts of the chicken body under the skin – that is indication of inflammation and/or blood clot. The chickens especially the hen started having difficulty walking. The hen  eats more than the cock.
Then I would feed them heavily with leaves and also give them charcoal so the chickens wouldn’t have a stroke.

The pooh of these current chickens fed on non-organic foods smells foul. I suspect it may be reason  some of the plants I have been manuring with the chicken pooh are having patches like fungus disease on the lower part of their leaves.

Also after the first laying cycle of about 8 eggs some months ago, this hen has not laid any more eggs. This is unlike the first hen of the same breed that after its first laying cycle, usually laid eggs every two to three days for at least four months before it went for Christmas festivity.

When discussing these local science outcomes with a friend, she buttressed this with another revelation. Some friends of hers were rearing rabbits. According to what my friend said, some of the rabbits being fed with noodles became blind.

Whether they are processed  or fresh foodstuffs grown with chemicals, food  or drinks that toxic substances have been used in their production introduces toxins into the consumers and these can cause ill-health or damage health.

I am now trying to do a reversal by consistently feeding my mini-garden chickens organic food or feeds going forward.

The effects of toxins humans take in may not be as immediately obvious as they occur in these small animals.
Some people may just experience itches or some blemishes on their skin or wrinkles on the face or other parts of the body. There will always be an initial sign given by the body when toxins enter into it minutes, hours or days later. Human beings can even easily use makeups to cover up these signs but take more proactive actions to avert full-fledged  heath problems.

Having detected and confirmed that  food  and drinks with toxic  substances contribute immensely to  the blemishes or wrinkling of the skin, especially face, I  would sometimes do videos or take photos of my bare face early in the morning. This also helps in checking the effects of what I have been taking.
This is not about vanity - if what one is taking  into the body is causing some  blemishes or wrinkling on the skin, this is an indication that substances have got into that body  that can do even more serious damage if ignored.

So if one keeps noticing the outward blemishes or other distress signs of the body, find out what is causing these. Then, get the toxins out and/or stop the intake of food, drinks or medications  through which toxins get into the body. Also avoid breathing in polluted air and stopuse of body care products with harmful elements.

But more importantly we need to keep advocating for the stoppage of toxic substances in foods, drinks, medications, body care products and the pollution of the environment.
