There is this fig tree growing in a sack in my mini-garden.
To practise this discipline of agriculture, I rear a few chickens as well. I usually carry out experiments on healthy and very cost-effective means of crop farming and livestock production. So I test-feed the chickens with alternatives including leaves.
Of all the leaves in the garden, I have noticed that these chickens love eating these fig leaves like kilode?- What is happening
So when there isn't something readily available to feed the chickens with, I cut these fig leaves pending the time.
My curiosity as a scientist then drew me into researching onthis fig plant.
What I am finding is somewhat staggering - there seems to be no end to the numerous vitality of plants that we normally overlook.
This plant from searches is definitely Ficus - a Fig tree - likely Ficus umbellata.
According to ScienceDirect, the parts of a Ficus plant are
… anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial, anti-oxidant, anti-diabetic, anti-arthritic, anti-stress, anti-cancer, hepato-protective, neuro-protective and wound healing …
So it is used in traditional medicine to solve women hormonal issues.
It is also said by researchers to have
potential benefits for air purification.
Most Ficus plants which can also be used as decorative house plants have anti-tumour properties and potential for stress reduction. So you may sit close by it if feeling stressed.
In traditional medicine,
Ficus umbellata is said to be used in treating leukoderma, leprosy, wounds, oedema, respiratory problems, diarrhoea, sexually transmitted illnesses, tuberculosis, anaemia, epilepsy, rickets, dysentery, male infertility, and gonorrhoea.
The benefits I find most interesting and currently tweaking my medulla oblongata is that it can be used for
air purification as the leaves can absorb harmful indoor chemicals like formaldehyde, ammonia, and benzene, purifying the air or at least reducing effects of air pollution.
SNEAK-PEAK INTO MY MEDULLA-OBLONGATA
You see formaldehyde, ammonia, benzene, though somewhat harmful are used in processing/preserving of some foods for human consumption - so I am thinking that that there is possibility that this Ficus plant leaves might be useful one way or the other in eliminating the harmful effects of such processed foods prepared with those substances...how? I am trying to think but the thoughts of how male chickens constantly harass female chickens is confusing me.
But what is even my business with those harrassments happening in Animal Republic?
Silencing the oppressed is acceptable ONLY in Animal Republic...
HARASSMENT IN ANIMAL REPUBLIC
Animals often attempt to show superiority by constantly harassing other animals or exploit the other animals, taking advantage of them
Silencing the oppressed is acceptable ONLY in Animal Republic...
