This topic of uncontrollable sexual urges is a matter many people prefer to ignore, overlook or pretend does not exist.
Yet the collateral damage(s) as a result of lack of sexual control are huge, even staggering.
If lack of sexual control happens with teenagers or uneducated people only, we can assume they just need to be prevented from the act till they grow up and the illiterates can just be sent to school or some training programmes that would instil discipline in them.
But we all know that even among the very highly educated, seemingly matured people, even those who know the law very well, who should be custodians of the rule of law, there are those who are fallible to uncontrollable sexual urges leading them to acts that they either regret or do everything within their powers to muzzle their victims.
Even among the clergy, there are those with uncontrollable sexual desires. If their religion or faith allows them to have multiple spouses they may hide under such to claim they want to marry the person they are preying on if the target is unmarried.
Yet some of the people with uncontrollable sexual desires still prey on those who are married.
They do not have the right to prey on anyone no matter the marital status of the person. Everybody has the right to refuse any advances they don’t want. But oftentimes the victims of those with uncontrollable sexual desires get victimised for refusing the advances.
It would have been somewhat honourable if after revealing love interest in someone and the person declines, not to attempt to pressure the person.
Some people whose faith do not allow more than one spouse often act like dare-devils when pressuring an unwilling person into sexual involvement with them. The lies, the coercion, the use of resources that may not even be theirs to bribe those in the know into silence can only be imagined as they go to any length to cover their tracks.
Worse still are those whose sexual urges are so uncontrollable that they are pedophilic-they sexually abuse children.
The embarrassment a lack of sexual control causes to the person, to the victims, to their families and friends and within their community and to the outside world is often huge. Sometimes it is more than embarrassment- it destroys lives.
Yet most of the sexually-uncontrolled would rather have their wrong deeds covered up even while still aggressively doing such wrongs.
Is it that they are just being wicked, taking advantage of someone they think they can overpower or they just have difficulties controlling the desires?
Most often the answer is the latter - they don’t know how to control it.
Those in authority over the sexual predator(s) that can penalise them and ought to keep them in check, usually also do not know how uncontrollable sexual desires can be checked. So they are more sympathetic to the offender. They often prefer that the victim(s) keep quiet, find ways to escape being sexually-abused or suffer it in silence.
Exposing the offender(s) would likely embarrass those in authority over them as well. Wouldn't it be better to prevent such acts than covering g up to prevent embarrassment?
So should we just accept that some people have uncontrollable sexual desires, and just hope that our loved ones and we also wont fall prey to the sexual predators?
Should we keep silent when we are directly or indirectly being victimised by sexual predators for refusal of their sexual advances or personal involvement with them?
We all know this must not be allowed to continue. How can a person living or working or worshipping in a place be at ease where there are those who may lose control of their sexual urges and come at them...
What is the best thing to do? Deal with the actual problem of course – best is to address that lack of control.
So what causes inability to control sexual desires which normally all human beings have or have had or will have at some points in their lives?
Apart from watching sexually-inciting visuals, listening to words or songs which can cause a surge in the desire, the actual cause is physical and can be physically-remedied.
If people can take medicine (conventional or herbal) to put mental stress, depression or any form of mental illness in check, why can’t they take medicine or use equivalent healthy foods and drinks to put in check uncontrollable sexual desires?
